For this lesson we had to make a 3d camera and make a shot using 2d layers that were placed in perspective to give the illusion of a 3d environment.
Firstly we imported the .PNG images into after effects and created a new composition, the next thing we done was place the images in order, this meant that the images would appear behind/ in front of each other in the needed order to create the 3d environment.
The next thing we done was make the images 3d layers by selecting the box tool, this enabled us to look at them from different views using the active camera box. When we looked at the shot from different views it just appeared as a line, this was because we were using images. We then scaled the images to make them look like they were all at different distances, this would help create depth of field when it came to created the 3d camera.
The next job was to create the 3D camera, to do this we selected, layer > new camera, this opened up the options box for the camera, we selected a 35mm lens as this would enable better depth of field, once the camera was created we selected the point of interest and dragged it to the back of the shot, this was to create the parallax. Just before key framing i changed the aperture so that the camera would focus on just the front wall and blur the rest of the background, this would create depth of field.
The next job was to keyframe the position of the 3D camera as well as the aperture this would move the camera whilst bringing background back into focus.
Once the shot was animated we rendered in h.264 and uploaded.
